By the time Perl Mova comes around, the release of Rakudo * will either have just happened or be about to happen.

Rakudo * is a release of the Rakudo Perl 6 compiler, bundled with a module installation/update tool and a collection of Perl 6 modules. It's not all of Perl 6, but it's an important step on the way to a complete Perl 6 implementation. Aimed at early adopters, it delivers on a lot of the Perl 6 promises: clean OO with roles, powerful parsing, multiple dispatch, junctions, types, signatures versioned modules and much more.

In this talk I'll look at what will be in the Rakudo * release and some of the things that you can do with it. I'll discuss what you should consider using it for, and what it's probably not ready for yet. I'll finish the talk with a look at the development roadmap for the future, as we continue to build towards Perl 6.0.0.
